Description
Located in the western New Territories of Hong Kong, Kam Tin is the earliest settlement of the Tang clan, the most powerful clans of the rural Hong Kong. Members of Tang clan branched out to various parts of the New Territories. A branch lineage of Tang clan stayed in Kam Tin and established two villages, Shui Tau Tsuen and Shui Mei Tsuen. Various building types of traditional Chinese buildings, including ancestral hall, study hall, temple and shrine were built in the two villages. Some of these over hundred-years-old buildings are now well preserved. These buildings witnessed the historical development and the plentiful cultural connotation of the Tangs in Kam Tin.
