  • Can a zombie game get better? I highly doubt it.
You like fighting off the undead after the zombie apocalypse? You like running games where you eventually die no matter how good you are? Then here's your five-star game! Into The Dead puts you in a first-person perspective running in no direction in particular - just away from the zombies behind you and into the zombies ahead of you. Pick up weapons along the way, dodge the slow but dense zombie crowds, and prolong the inevitable - a graphic, bloody death. AND IT'S FREE??? Oh sure, there's the inevitable ads, but they're fairly unobtrusive. You can, like many games, spend more money to upgrade faster - or, just rely on your m4d skilz to level up and get better weapons. I advise you always run with the companion German Shepherd, who has cleared a path for me innumerable times now.

  • A terrific game with some minor issues....
Great implementation of T&E. The interface is well-designed, the artwork is beautiful, and the soundtrack matches well the era of the theme of this game. Sadly it appears Codito is getting out of game dev for a while.... so not only will this not get updated but neither will their iOS games. So take it for what it is and hope for the future!

  • Better than the print game...
This is not only a great conversion of the original dice game but is actually better. The co-op nature of the dice game ports straight to solo play here, and there's not nearly so much clutter. The app makes learning the game mechanics much easier. Plus it is dripping with theme and atmosphere, from the video voiceovers to the artwork and effects to the soundtrack. FFG nailed this one. Worth the bucks for the app and both expansions!

  • Could be great but....
I'll grant that this game is visually terrific. The controls are okay and sometimes the obstacles can be hard to make out and be ready for... maybe that's intentional, maybe not. The real drawback to this game, unlike other infinite runners, is how blatantly the designers have made it nearly impossible to upgrade anything without spending money. Other running games allow buying with money, but alternatively you can just be good at the game and earn coins/gems/whatever by playing. That's a cleverly denied option in this game. You're lucky to collect a few hundred diamonds on a run, maybe a thousand, if you run far enough in a game. But then your lowest level temporary boosts, are at least 500 diamonds for each use. Upgrading those takes a few thousand diamonds - and you'll need to if you want those boosts to be at all useful, because they don't last long in the game. New runners? That's 10K diamonds, at least. And then there's the stuff you buy with film rolls - but you can't collect rolls of film in the game, you MUST buy them. No thanks, I'll play temple run.
